I decided we needed a rainbow day. I told Katarina to pick out whatever clothes made her feel really happy (even if they did not match), and I did the same.
These were the items I was drawn to when I looked in my closet this morning:
- Bright yellow short trench coat. (It isn't even cold outside.)
- Bright pink shirt.
- Teal Scarf. (It is my favorite, and I made it.)
- Comfortable jeans.
- Plaid hat in teals and purples.
- Makeup! I wore sparkles and the dark red lipstick that I hardly ever use. Katarina did it for me, which made it even more fun.
Katarina is slightly more seasonally appropriate (minus the scarf), but equally as happy in her rainbow of colors.
Today, we are rainbows.
Bold and unafraid.
Breathing in life, and living out fun.

I ADORE This. These pictures, you and your sweet one. Love it all. <3
ReplyDeleteLife needs more rainbows!
Awww. Thank you!! Love you, too.
DeleteI love your yellow trench coat...it looks so cheerful. And your daughter's outfit...just adorable! Bright colors are such a pick me up! Hope you had a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely the most cheerful coat I have ever owned. We did have a great day (hope you did, too).
DeleteHow fun! My kids have to wear uniforms to school, so I try to let them dress however they want on weekends. You guys look great!
ReplyDeleteUniforms are great for making school day preparation go faster, but I imagine that it would get boring wearing the same thing every day. It is great that you give them freedom on the weekends to have fun with their clothes.
DeleteYou two could not look more adorable. Your yellow coat is happiness. I cannot even tell you how much I love it! When you wear what makes you happy---you ARE happy---and that just radiates out! LOVE IT!! --Lisa
ReplyDeleteAwww. Thank you!!
DeleteWe were rocking the happiness yesterday for sure! Hope you had some happy in your world, Lisa.
Just beautiful. My three-year-old chooses her own clothing a lot and usually pulls together some rainbow zany look. I love it! This brightens an otherwise grey day.
ReplyDeleteZany is always fun!
DeleteI love your bright colors.
ReplyDeleteYellow is my favorite color to wear. It's such a happy color.
Thanks, Shell.
DeleteYellow is my favorite, too!
Brilliant! You both look fantastic.
ReplyDeletePlus, I totally want your daughter's shirt!
Thanks.
DeleteI want her shirt too! It is so cute.
love it :) I have a bright yellow trench coat that is VERY similar - just longer & has a belt. We could be rainbow twins :)
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! Have a great day my rainbow twin!
DeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE it.. and the fact that you both totally pulled it off. I would look like a color blind beached whale if I tried it. I bet people around you were made happy just seeing ya'll
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea! It made me happy just to see how happy you both looked in your rainbows. You are definitely rainbows in our world!! <3
ReplyDeleteI love this! You both look so happy.
ReplyDeleteThe photo of you and your daughter is one of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. As someone who had a bad mother, it is so healing to see this. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGood and healing thoughts to you.
Kate
Vibrant, beautiful mama; vibrant, beautiful girl!
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous! I love the idea of a rainbow day!
ReplyDeleteRainbow days are the BEST. Gorgeous gals!
ReplyDeleteOh, I absolutely LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteI've begun to embrace color in my old age (especially yellow, I love yellow so much), I need to take a cue from you and be a rainbow once in a while. :)
What a great way to dress for the first day of spring!
ReplyDeleteLooove the bright yellow jacket. And her adorable hat. Too cute! In my mind, there's nothing better on a dreary day than bright pops of color!
ReplyDeleteYou both look bright and adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove it! So happy you decided to have a rainbow day :D
