Lilith sounds like a great book. I'm gonna have to check it out. No. I probabl... Do you like super descriptive books?
No. I probably am happier with a slightly higher level of description than you, I'd guess, but I still don't need to hear about 20 irrelevant outfit changes over the course of a novel. ;)

Do you enjoy poetry? (If you do, tell me your favorite. Maybe you can convert me into a poetry lover.)
Oh goodness, so much yes. I don't think my favourites would make good conversions because I'm just not sure on what you like, and I'm not good at favourite anythings -- but here are three very different examples of poems I adore:

Andrea Gibson's spoken word poem "Blue Blanket" (some SA references): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cEc3aQOP-o

Anchor - a piece of Found poetry with entwined artwork: http://fav.me/d5zgasl

Growing Up - free verse: http://exceptindreams.livejournal.com/172019.html

(Alright, and another bonus spoken word poem, this time by Taylor Mali-- What Teachers Make : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxsOVK4syxU )

Do you ever skim over long pieces of poetry or songs written in books?
Despite my great love of poetry, absolutely yes unless the poem itself catches me. If I wanted to read a poem, I'd have gone to my treasure troves of beautiful poetry/poets! The exception is if the poem is particularly relevant/enjoyable.Chrysalishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17987538360359912475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12565507.post-46728576456876999472013-09-02T23:58:03.601-04:002013-09-02T23:58:03.601-04:00I totally agree! My pet peeve: when two characters kiss, and the author feels the need to describe what the other person tastes like. WHY?

I don't like poetry. Not one bit! And yep, I skim over those parts in books.Stacey @ Chasing Cloud 9https://www.blogger.com/profile/03935085707229643962noreply@blogger.com
