From Tracie: What are you reading??

What are you reading??

This looked like fun. I saw it over at Pathological Indecisiveness.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions:
-Don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick whatever book is closest to you right now!

So, here it goes:
Disordered Minds by Minette Walters
"Part of Kiszko's statement was a false admission that he had exposed himself some weeks earlier to two teenage girls who had named and identified him. Sixteen years later, when Kiszko was released by the Court of Appeal, these two girls, now grown women, admitted they had invented the story after seeing a taxi driver urinating behind a bush. More criminally, police withheld semen evidence at the trial which they knew would exculpate Kiszko."

This is the part where I am supposed to tag people.....so if you want to play along, consider yourself tagged! Let me know if you play and I will come visit!

  1. I generally don't do memes - they muck up my already distorted sense of narrative, I find - but this one looks like fun!

Back from Michele's, and you always manage to find a way to get us thinking about the world just a little differently.

His waist belt and sword straps are of white leather. His cap box, sword scabbord and shoes are of black leather. His trouser are white and his sash red.

  11. here's mine. (it's kind of embarrasing actually, it's from Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged... Trust me if I were to pick one on PURPOSE to be cool this wouldn't be my pick, but here goes:)

"You don't know about railroads, lady," said a passenger. "There's not a signal system or a dispacther in the country that's worth a damn."

She did not turn or notice him, but spoke to the engineer.
