Thursday Thirteen #3

This week will be a collection of randomness.  In no specific order.  If you want to play too, just go here.
1. I think there should be a rule that kids can't say the price of objects in a commercial if they aren't able to write that number down without help.  Example 1: 3 year old girl in car commercial who says, "It is only $49,989" not allowed!!  Example 2: 14 year old girl in appliance commercial who says, "refrigerator for $49.99", annoying, but allowed!
2. Right now I could really use some french fries.
3. I hardly ever read magazines.
4. Magazines annoy me because there is 72 pages of ads before you even get to the first article.  And then every other pages after that is another ad.  That's worse than television!
5. I was one of those people who watched a rerun of Saving Grace on Tuesday night.  Say whatever you want, I'm obsessed with it.
6. Have you seen the ridiculous pistachio commercials? So stupid!
7. I wonder if Pam and Jim are going to be back from their honeymoon this week.  It's sad when they aren't on The Office.  Still funny, but you miss them.
8. Jay Leno quit his job.  It was his choice.  He can't go back and decide that he still wants to be on tv-especially when it means that he takes up an hour of prime time every single night.  I'm tired of it already.  Jay, please write a book, or go on a speaking tour, whatever makes you happy, as long as you quit taking up my tv time.
9.Because of Jay Leno they moved around Law and Order SVU.  Wednesdays at nine is not a good time.  I want it back at ten o'clock.  Please!
10. Since I can't have french fries, I am eating a bowl of fruit loops.
11. I think that I laugh at least once during every episode of Phineas and Ferb that Katarina watches.  Yep, I'm a dork!
12. How many weeks is baseball going to replace Bones?  So annoying!
13. Wow, lots of tv this week on the list!  And a lot of annoyances too.
What are your favorite things to watch? (for those of you who watch tv)

  1. To be fair, they MADE Jay quit his job and then when he was still bringing in ratings gave him this 10 o' clock show because they didn't have the guts to work on new shows.

yeah i'm bitter about it too. Happy TT.

  2. I really enjoy random lists. It's more like my real life, so I follow along well. The only show I make sure I see is NCIS. I watch Monk and Psych on Hulu.com after they air, as I don't have cable. That pretty much sums up all of the grown up shows I get to see.

  3. I also cannot stand the pistachio commercials and am annoyed that SVU was moved to an hour earlier on Wed. I have not seen a single episode this season as it is now opposite Criminal Minds. Other shows I watch: NCIS, NCIS:LA, Ghost Whisperer, Medium, Numb3rs...

  4. #10 - Have you considered baked french fries? I do baked sweet potato fries a few times a month and it's amazing.

  5. Sounds to me like you read more magazines than I do. I have no idea how much advertising to expect in them.

  6. I like to read magazines when I have to wait somewhere, doctor, hairdresser etc. Then I update myself on royals and actors and "People" and feel more intelligent afterwards.
We have different TV programs, so I couldn't talk about that !

  7. I watch the Biggest Loser, several home improvement/decorating shows, Mythbusters, and Storm Chasers. And I really agree with you about the magazine ads. I've let all my subscriptions lapse.

  8. I hate when TV schedules are rearranged, but I've solved that a bit with my lovely DVR. I watch what I want when I want. Yipee!

  11. I got hooked on Sex in the City...years late. Since HD came I only get about 2 channels so my watching is limited. The nurse in Saving Grace looks like my niece. It's a good show but I don't want to get hooked.

Magazines also stink of perfume! Random TT's are my favorite.

  12. ha ha love your list! I agree with the magazines, though I still read them, love Pam and Jim and french fries... go figure!

  13. Loved your random list! I don't read magazines ... love Saving Grace and Bones ... didn't know about Jay Leno quitting but then I don't watch a whole lot of TV either. Methinks I'll cook myself some oatmeal soon because you've made me hungry and I'll I've had this morning is coffee so far. Thanks for visiting both of my T-13s this week and for helping me celebrate my 2nd Blogoversary too.
    Hugs and blessings,

  14. Not a magazine reader here either.
Not to sound like a salesperson, but it sounds like you need a DVR, then you could record the shows you care about- regardless of when they're on, watch them at your convenience & skip the commercials!
My favorite show right now on TV is Sons of Anarchy, though it's not on network TV so might not count. On network TV it would probably be Medium or Cold Case.

  15. I am *so* with you on #12. It's the only current show I'm watching. Grrr.

  16. I'm a big Bones fan. Also, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Ugly Betty, House, Glee, Dollhouse... Wow, I watch a lot of TV.

Thanks a lot. Now I want french fries too. Sigh. Looks like I'm going to McD's on the way to my class tonight.

  17. Jay Leno is killing TV. Horrible.

I felt the SAME WAY about my sewing machine. My grandmother bought it for me for my birthday (not the Shaq one..lol). I was so excited when I set it up, but I just don't get the dang thread tension. It's so frustrating!!

  18. TV: The Amazing Race, House, The Office, 30 Rock...America's Funniest Home videos...

  19. I tried to get into "Saving Grace" but kept falling asleep! I am a real Law and Order Criminal Intent junkie. I love Vincent DaNafrio, he's yummy looking, even for an old gal like me. I am also addicted to NCIS and The Closer. I could use a big juicy cheeseburger about right now, but I have all temporary caps on my teeth and can't eat solid food. I can sure down a milkshake though!

  21. I hardly ever read magazines, either. My favorite show on TV is Grey's Anatomy.

  22. This made me chuckle. Yes indeed. Chuckle.

I did not like magazines until I started reading Real Simple. Now I am addicted.

I want french fries as well.

    Oh, Jim and Pam.

    Happy Thursday!

  23. Bones is a good show. My fourth-grader had to watch it for his gifted class (or any show where they use science to solve a crime), and wouldn't you know, the episode I picked out of the blue was the one where sex was this huge part of the plot. Eep!

  24. I love tv too, so glad we have a dvr so we aren't stuck watching Leno at 10 everynight. Right now I love's Grey's, Private Practice, How I Met Your Mother (the new Friends if you haven't seen it) and we're hooked on modern family now (sorta like what might have happened if Al Bundy had divorced & remarried a hot Columbian lady)

Just stopping by late to say hi from last week's VGNO!

  25. I love your list, pretty awesome. I could so make random lists like that. haha. I really hope that Pam and Jim come back too! I miss them!

  26. I love your decision to replace french fries with fruit loops. LOL!

  27. Glee and Mad Men are my favorite shows right now.

  28. We don't have any cable TV connected, so we don't watch TV... but I download some of my fave shows like Desperate Housewives, Heroes, Grey's Anatomy and CSI [LV and NY].

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  29. Too many ads in magazines annoy me too. Like when you're reading a story and it says, "continued on p. --" and when you turn, the ads distract you like crazy

    ReplyDelete
  30. I just don't watch a lot of TV right now. I find it rather disappointing because I want to watch, I'm just not into what's on right now. I spend most evenings channel surfing and sighing LOL!

  31. I knew I liked you! We watch all the same things on tv :D ;) This is way cute, I'll have to do it next week :) I miss Jim and Pam when they're away too, but yey for them finally being married!!!

And yey for crunchy leaves and thank you for hearting my blog!!!
