From Tracie: It Is Okay To Fall

It Is Okay To Fall

I feel like someone who is looking up and realizing for the first time that the sky goes on and on, and I can follow it anywhere. I can fly.

Then I hear that voice. Small. Insistent. Taunting. “What if you fall?” And all the fears that tether me to the ground come crashing down on me.

Georgia O'Keeffe quote

***************

I am so very excited to be a contributing writer at Just.Be.Enough. this year. Elena Sonnino has gathered some amazing women to write, and I am really enjoying getting to know them, and being a part of the team.

My first post is up today.

I'm talking about turning 30, embracing change, and taking action.

I hope to see you there.

Just Be Enough

Who wants to come flying with me?

  3. Yes Tracie, it is indeed better to do what you have to do even if you have to do it terrified!
Thanks for the quote, it drove home to me.
    Have a super blessed day!

  4. OH How we hate to fall though, to think we failed or came up short. But it is in the falling that we learn what not to do next time and get ourselves up and run again.. the failure is not in the falling it is in the not trying once more

    1. Yes. Falling and getting back up is a win, never a loss.

  6. We are the same age! :D I turned 30 a couple of weeks ago. I kind of expected some sort of meltdown, to be honest, as I had one for most of my other birthdays, but the day passed calmly and I didn't go into my usual "oh my god, I'm x age and I haven't achieved anything" freakout. Instead I just felt happy and content that I have a loving partner, we're about to add a new family member (PUPPY [insert crazy-excitement-levels here]) and we'll begin loosely trying for a baby later this year. It was nice.

I'll fly with you, Tracie. And I'll fall with you too. ;)

    1. That is awesome! Happy birthday!!

I'm happy to hear you didn't have a meltdown. It is awesome to be in that place of happy contentment.

A new puppy!?! Yay!! And thinking about a baby in the future. Double Yay! I'm pretty sure that 30 is going to ROCK for you.

Flying and falling. It is always better to take this life journey with friends. <3

  8. Reason #23,876 why I keep a pack bandaids...everywhere...I fall down, a lot. Getting back up again, now that is the real trick, eh? Congrats on the new gig :)
