-Catching Up and Sitting Up

I have been absent from Blog-land for a couple of weeks now.  After the Great Snowfall, my cold got worse.  I went to bed and sneezed.....and that sneeze put my back out and I ended up with a pinched nerve!  (I never get injured in normal ways)

Jenny reminded me of some special advice that my mom gave me when I was learning how to drive, "You are driving along, you're doing fine, and then.......BAM! you sneeze, your eyes close, and you get in a wreck. Sneezing is dangerous!"

I never did sneeze myself into a car wreck, but now that I have sneezed my back out, I can say with complete agreement...sneezing is dangerous!

Thomas and Katarina have been super sweet, and taking care of me, and doing all of the cooking, dishes, and laundry.  After almost two weeks of staying in bed, I am slowly moving around.  Sitting and standing for long periods of time is still painful, so I'm taking it slow.  The Laptop Fairy keeps forgetting to visit my house with a laptop, so that meant no blogging from bed, but I am ready to reenter the world again and look at something more exciting than my ceiling!

  4. I remember reading somewhere that when you sneeze at the wheel, you lose something like eight seconds of concentration. That really freaked me out: even a fraction of a second could make the difference between life and death. But eight? An eternity.

I hope that rascally nerve of yours starts to behave properly in short order. You don't deserve to be in pain.

  5. My uncle, he's a pediatrician, told me once after I tried to fight a sneeze that you could hurt yourself that way. I laughed at him. What does he know? He's only a DOCTOR. I've slowly come to the realization though, that sneezing in dangerous. Why do we do it!? Glad you're feeling a little better! I hope you're 100% soon!

  6. I know that sneezing at the wheel can cause accidents if you do too hard.

I didn't know sneezing in bed was dangerous! I'll have to be careful.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a laptop fairy?
