A Sliver Of Light

I have a lot of questions.

This morning I spent an hour looking at literary tattoos.

I don't have a lot of answers.

Some of them were beautiful.

I love deeply.

“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times,
if one only remembers to turn on the light.”

I feel.

This morning I dreamt of creating small figurines that were then smashed, and crushed, and pushed together.

I hurt. I cry. I wipe my tears, and start again.

Some of them were beautiful.

I laugh. I dance. I spin until the my feet leave the ground, and the world stands still.

"I think of Paul and Silas in the prison yard,
I hear their song of freedom rising to the stars."

I grow.

This morning I sang words that have been in my head for days.

I feel the words pulse with the beating of my heart.

Some of them were beautiful.

I reach for more. I believe it is there. He is there. I stand firm, even when I'm falling.

"Your love never fails, never gives up
Never runs out on me"

I know all is not darkness.

There is a sliver of light coming in through the curtain.

There is a sliver of light illuminating my soul.

It is beautiful.

I am beautiful. You are beautiful.

"Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

  2. There are some things that can be put into words and some things that cannot. The ones that cannot seem sometimes to overwhelm but that sliver of light keeps us reaching for the realization that there is more. Finding words to put meaning to what you can't is always so beautiful. It lets us know we are not alone, someone has been there before and said what we can't say.

  3. This post touched my heart, quite honestly. I don't think I've heard and read enough lately that touched my heart, so thank you.

  5. I have not found or had access to anything that touches me. I keep telling myself to get to the library and find something, though it seems like a task. My daughter has many, many books and though I try to read some, I get to a point in most where the minute someone lies, steals, cheats, hurts or any kind, I put the book down. I've even stopped watching shows, series on netflixs because something will happen and I just know where the story line is going. And it's never a good place. I know good story lines just don't make it to the shows. I mostly read books written for teens/preteens because at least any violence is written in a lesser means. Post a list of some good reading that I could find at the library that touches ones heart so perhaps I can go find them. Hugs

  6. There is a sliver of light illuminating my soul...absolutely and sometimes that is all you need.
For me, I was selected as part of the Listen To Your Mother Show. The stories that all of these women have, touched me deeply. We all have our stories and when we share them, we can touch someone's life in an unsuspecting way.
I really love this post my dear xo

  7. This is truly beautiful, Tracie.
The latest thing that touched me? Pharrell crying when he saw videos people made for his song, Happy. I know, right?
