Are you prepared for the demise of Google Reader? Have you picked out your new feedreader, or the new system you will use to keep up with all your favorite blogs? (To keep up with me?)
Feedly - After trying most of alternatives, I have decided to go with Feedly. Feedly feels a lot like Google Reader. It not only allows you to organize your blog subscriptions into folders, it will also bring over your existing folders when you import your information from Google Reader. I have several hundred rss subscriptions that were all organized in folders, so this was a HUGE selling point for me. Feedly also makes sharing posts on social media easy from within the reader.
BlogLovin' - A lot of people are moving to BlogLovin'. The people who like it, LOVE it. If BlogLovin' is your new reader of choice, you can follow From Tracie over there by clicking on this button.
A Few Other Readers - If Feedly and BlogLovin' aren't speaking to you, you might want to check out some of these options: The Old Reader was built when Google Reader originally shut down its social sharing functions, it looks and feels like the Google Reader of yore (pre-Google+). Newsvibe is very simple, with no app or social sharing integrations built in. Netvibes is a good combination of Google Reader and iGoogle. They have free and paid versions. Digg Reader is something that a lot of people are very excited to try. I can not give you much information about it, because it hasn't been released yet, but it is something to keep in mind to try in the near future.
Email - If email is more your speed, I have got you covered. You can enter your email address in the form below to subscribe to From Tracie.
Social Media - Maybe you are going to click on new blog posts when you see them shared on social media instead of setting up a new feedreader.
I love social media. Today I am going to make it easy for you to find me...
